The events of the 165th Carnival of Messini, starting from Thursday 20 February and lasting until Clean Monday 3 March, include well-known traditional events, such as the re-enactment of the trial and hanging of Grias-Sykou, the lighting of traditional bonfires in the neighborhoods of Messini and in central squares of Municipal Communities, the customs of Tyris-Taramas and Vamena with her bouleuki, the carnival of Malliaros in Manganiakos, the children's carnival and the big carnival parade on Carnival Monday with the momentous speech of the Carnival King and the concert with the popular pop singer Lila. At the same time, clubs and organizations organize costume parties for fun and frolic throughout the Carnival.
